American choreographer and dancer Daniel Linehan has been invited to join Lille Opera House for a residency starting from 2013. The Lille Opera audiences will be given the opportunity to discover his work through a Happy Day and two performances of his current creation Gaze is a Gap is Ghost. Daniel Linehan was recently a member of PARTS, the school founded in Brussels by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. His aesthetics is a permanent dialogue between dance, video and electronics.

A professional lyric choir in Nord-Pas de Calais since 2003
The Lille Opera Choir was founded in December 2003, with the reopening of the Opera. Directed by Yves Parmentier, it is composed of 26 to 40 young professional singers, most of them living in the region. The Lille Opera Choir’s role is to participate in the lyric productions of the Opera (Rigoletto, Le nozze di Figaro, La Périchole, Carmen, The Elixir of Love, Macbeth…), and also to give concerts on tour and at the Lille Opera House, within the framework of the Wednesday Concerts at 6 p.m. season. The quality of the Lille Opera Choir has been broadly acknowledged by professionals and the press. This is largely thanks to the talent and experience of Yves Parmentier, who regularly participates in numerous lyric productions and directs several professional choirs

Its residence at the Opera gives our audiences a chance to hear a mix of famous works and rare gems, rising young soloists and international stars, programmes for the family, as well as master classes for students and teachers from the region.

The Belgian ensemble Ictus is composed of some 20 soloists of the highest level. Its programming covers a broad spectrum of styles, but each of its concerts takes the listener on a coherent and attractive adventure: thematic concerts, concerts with commentary or stage productions. Since its residence began in 2003, these ever-original and convivial events have enjoyed tremendous success with a broad range of audiences. Each season, Ictus also leads a number of original projects initiated by the Lille Opera with educational establishments (conservatories, CFMI), with classes for teachers and a musical programme for primary schools.
