“A compelling dialogue between contemporary dance and live baroque music.”
Concerto Danzante is a choreographic journey through the history of the concerto. Josépha Madoki, an icon of whacking — an urban dance tyle that emerged within the LGBT community in Los Angeles in the 1970s — and choreographer Maud Le Pladec have created a double programme for the 26 dancers of the Ballet de Lorraine.
Maud Le Pladec translate the tension, the dialogue and the virtuosity of Bach’s concertos into an abstract and poetic dance language. With her resolutely expressive style, Josépha Madoki opts for a bold and modern interpretation of Vivaldi’s concertos.
